Creation story
Creation Story is a Chicanofuturist musical that blends myth, migration, and environmental collapse with rancheras, ballads, and desert-western sounds. Set in a shape-shifting shadow version of the American Southwest, Creation Story follows a writer as she remixes Catholic and Hopi creation stories, breathes life into unruly characters, and unravels the mysteries of destruction, and cultural memory.
Creation Story will run for four weeks BETWEEN December 2026 and January 2027 at TEATRO CÍRCULO in New York City.
Although donations are highly appreciated for our theater company, please know that there is no required donation to enter in Zeffy for tickets.

Production history
In April 2025 Creation Story had developmental workshops at Playwrights Horizons Downtown and The Dance Theatre of Harlem made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature

CREATION STORY is made possible in part with funds from regrant programs supported by the funding agencies Howard Gilman Foundation and the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation (UMEZ) and administered by LMCC.
